picking the "perfect" peach
The cutest little caramel-skinned baby was born on November 11th, 1996 at 1:01 PM at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia to God's own angel, a single mother of five children (with me being number five). If you didn't know me and just heard my background story, you would think there is no way that this girl is going to make it anywhere in life. I could sit and say that it is those type of thoughts that keep me going, but it's not. From the second I was born, the devil himself was after me and mine. Through all of the triumphs and struggles, my God never turned His back. You question me by saying "How do you know God is real?" I see God everyday through the guidance and everlasting love shown by my mother, Teresa. I see God through the joyful times my brother and sisters encounter. I see God in every sunrise and sunset. His love shines through and allows for a warm embrace. This is what keeps me going. Everything I do and everything I am is all due to the people I love. I wake up every morning ready to take on whatever task God lays down in front of me in order to one day provide for my loved ones. Who am I, you ask? I am Seania Nicole Overton, future general pediatrician with a passion to pick away at adversity until I become the "perfect" peach.
